Andre Bato’s Petit Louis (2023) is a Romantic Melodrama portraying Chiara, a young runaway from America, and J, an inscrutable French artist

The entirety of their relationship unfolds in a nonlinear fashion inside the confines of a theatrically charming, small European apartment in the mid 1970s.

Through its characters, as well as themes such as dependency and attachment, Petit Louis (2023) hopes to encourage a dialogue between audience members’ perceptions of their own relationships – an exploration of love in all its different facets, putting preconceived notions of romance through a new and distinct lens.
