Slow-motion scenes are an inseparable part of our videos. The ways and purposes we use this technique are varied just like the cameras that are good at producing it. So today we want to look through a list of cameras that can give you nice and smooth slow-mos to better your videos. We’ll start up the list by the cheapest then go to the most expensive one. So let’s jump in!

GoPro HERO 8

One of the cameras of the famous action camera producer that is good at capturing action in slow-motion. But it doesn’t mean you can’t capture other types of slow-mo with this camera. You can use it to capture a nice raindrop slow-motion in 4k and use it in your video but it’s best to use it for capturing actions as it’s produced for it.

So a camera like this is definitely awesome to get slow-motion footage with acceptable quality.

It’s capable of recording 16-bit raw 4K/2K footage up to 120 fps to an external recorder. It also has an internal ND filter and 15 stops of dynamic range and it’s consistent with the Sony pedigree. BUT the wonderful part is that it records HD with 6,600 frames per second and even higher frame rate for lower resolution. Yes, this means it’s a slow-mo machine that breaks every normal action into hundreds of pieces. That’s why it’s the highest level of a camera in terms of creating slow-mo videos and that’s exactly why this is expensive because it’s not a normal consumer camera, it’s a pro.
