Teenage rebellion. A found gun. A creepy stranger. On first blush, Robbie Barclay’s Backstroke sort of seems like a horror/suspense movie Mad Libs. It’s chock full of common elements and familiar ideas (word to the wise…in movies, skinny dipping is never a good idea). But, Barclay isn’t your average filmmaker. What Backstroke’s narrative lacks in ingenuity, it more than makes up for incredibly polished direction and execution
